Data is data. [worldometers.info]
How are you able to ascertain what data is correct?
From Johns Hopkins.
You or I cannot nor should we take the data prima facie as correct. We read news about what experts are saying about the integrity of the data. The integrity has been in question a lot lately.
There is a general understanding that advanced societies where government transparency has matured and data is reporting is not controlled by government agencies, data is at least not intentionally manipulated, the data are generally reliable. But nations where there are authoritarian and fascist governments and also where a reliable reporting mechanisms don't exist... the data are not at all reliable.... like in Syria, Turkey, China, Egypt, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, India etc.
There have been reports now that US Covid deaths have been underreported. [cfr.org]
Generally, common sense should prevail. We all know Russia, China, North Korea, India, Egypt will never report country data honestly. Data are used to pump of successes and underreported played down failures.
