QAnon. New American Religion. Scary stuff. Do many of your friends and family support Qanon? How about you? Some of you might be too embarrassed to admit it.

[markinreport.com]

UPDATE. This in from people well beyond me: " Everyone should read this book from 1940, “Psychic Dictatorship in America,” about the “Mighty I AM” movement/scam peddled by the Ballards. Not only was I AM the QAnon of its day, it went on to actually become QAnon, with key figures in the latter movement who participated in the modern I AM incarnation (hint: it still exists).
I hadn’t had a chance to read Gerald Bryan’s highly readable contemporary account until this week, but seriously folks, this is what we are dealing with and NO media has yet landed on this. (We are working on it.)"

Nope, but I do think it is scary that a principal I had in grade school now believes in QAnon. I think a big reason that it has become mainstream is because people have become too attached to self-opinion instead of fact, and also the lack of ability to reason and to think critically. Its much of a mind game, but I think it shows that disinformation en-masse, has dangerous consequences.

Putin's stooge, Trump, likes Q because he likes conspiracies, and it mobilizes his base. As the most fervent and animated part of the Republican Party, Q-fools own the party along with Trump.

All those trillions of National Defense knocked off by a few electrons. Too funny. Too shameful...

Thanks. That gives me a sliver of hope. I needed that.

@UrsiMajor Big time Democratic family

The words used in "Q" just keep changing. I'm told they talk in code and many think now that Trump is "Q plus." My view is that it is all a game and there are many people being "Q."

Some people are making me feel like a goddamned genius.

2

Anybody with any reasonable amount of intelligence could figure for themselves what a bunch of shit this is. Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.

I don't understand how some members of agnostic can see that the Bible is a fairy tale, but they can't see through QAnon. Where is the gap in critical thinking?

This the typical mass hysteria that captivated Europe with the Eugenics, false psychological traits, and cultural divisions!!!

It is just how the psychopaths and sociopaths work feeding on fears that looks like it it overtly possible when the reality it is just a bold disingenuous propaganda with no facts to actually back up the premise or source!!!

It is the illogical memes that captured what never existed, yet sounds respectable and can be presumed to be practical and menacing to those who relate to it!!

It is nothing but fear and tribalism to the extent it can not be denied even with facts, evens, and truth!!!

Now the obstructionist republican fascists and their wealthy corporate owners can put forth all out full blown pure propaganda to those believers that if they were informed and actually got off their asses to do real research would quickly see how they are being used to Dismantle our society and culture by being enslaved and indenture!!!

They are being used in such away that they are giving up all their rights and freedoms to protect themselves from a overt boogie man and ghosts that have never existed by letting themselves live in a reality that is just created disingenuously view of reality to enslave and indenture them and their children!!!

People should not be ashamed to admit someone they know or care about is in the Q movement.

This movement represents a dangerous mix of algorithmic manipulation combined with theocracy... As such a poses a unique threat to the evolution of human civilization in general...

Your loved ones are passionate about this movement because it is very much designed to build upon centuries of unchecked conspiratorial belief in emotionally potent narratives and associations.

While this does not absolve them of accountability, It does acknowledge that this is just the latest iteration of a truly devastating practice in American history.

It is fascism via theocracy combined with the state religion of white supremacy... It needs to be treated in a manner similar to a biological weapons attack via an opioid like mechanism of delivery.

Resist the sense to feel shame. You're only responsible for your b*** and not others.

Do your best to quarantine yourselves and loved ones and to be factually observant about the harm done.

Lastly become very active and holding elected officials accountable for their lack of efficacy when facing this attack.

I have zero interest in that nonsense and I'm not aware of any of my family or friends supporting that crap but they could be keeping it secret. I do live in the South and it's chock full of idiots, racists, bigots, religious nuts, and right-wing conservative lunatics.

Here’s something for ya that’ll annoy these buttfucks!!

5

I consider them to be what the oath I took was talking about when it said all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC

4

My sister is really into that crap, she tried to get me into it and I told her that it's all bullshit, but, she really thinks its the real deal. I didn't think my mom raised any fools, but I guess I was wrong in my sisters case.

Your country's QAnon is not a new religion, but a further toxic evolution in American Christian evangelism, linking messianic Christianity with secular messianic devotion, with Trump and Q as the figureheads. Haven't you seen the posters: 'Jesus is my saviour, Q is my prophet, and Donald J Trump is my President."

What a sad country the US has become.

Great analysis!

Thank you David. I've been saying this for awhile now and it's nice to see someone from the outside looking in say the same

More pathetic than anything else.

Don't pat yourself on the back. It can happen even more easily in your country

QAnon is the greatest crock of horseshit that ever came along. I find those that do not know something or really want it to be their way actually embrace this crap. Many so-called intelligent people are in this also. I know a man who believes that Biden has been assassinated and that Rump was president the entire time and is going to show again in July. The dates just keep changing. It fits if Trump is Jesus or maybe a groundhog.

Unfortunately I agree David

@barjoe yes, American toxic Evangelism has spread to here and elsewhere around the world. Thanks a lot. And I wasn't patting anything.

@David1955 it's not exclusively America's. You have plenty of toxic hate down under as well. Rupert Murdoch has spread his toxic hate and is responsible for a lot of the problems in the states.

@barjoe totally agree, and I wish he would die, not that it would change anything much. But don't try to deflect or falsely equate --- toxic Evangelism is an American creation, which Murdoch and others have exploited, but its origins are American. It has now been exported, including here. Your country's inability to regulate and control Murdoch is your failure. At least here there has been some effort made to control his media influence, but not enough I admit.

@David1955 Origins are actually in Russia.

@barjoe oh,of course. When I see Australian evangelistic hand waving singing praising American imitating gatherings here, I should remind myself that it's just like in mother Russia. Right.

@barjoe a timely article I just finished reading: [independentaustralia.net]

@David1955 I don't agree with everything in the article but I know Scott Morrison is pragmatically no better than Donald Trump.

@barjoe except Morrison is a moron who actually believes in that religious crap. Trump doesn't believe a word of it and just exploits the stupidity and gullibility of the religious and rewards them with by promoting their anti modernism and anti democratic policies. Bigger point -- Morrison's religion and fellows are following your religious trends.

@David1955 My religious trends? You mean ultra right white nationalists in the United States? They aren't my trends. I don't take ownership for that in the "your". You should be proud to be an Australian, but I wouldn't accuse you of having the religious fanaticism of PM Morrison.

How about Don't..... but they are out there.... some may think is an annoying Joke and others Truly believe the Lies. We Need to keep an Eye on them for sure!!!

They’re not even worth pissing on.

What a load of crap that is.... Thanks for wasting a good 20 seconds of my time...🙄

@creative51 My my... what a gorgeous glass house you live in... 🙄😏

Well, I give you honesty points. Thanks for owning your QAnon status. If that is what you are saying.

Captain, Only someone who has bought the bridge they are selling would say this......
