Discovered a new movement called “Dark Mountain.” Sounds like something which some agnostic.com members can identify. ” Together, we are walking away from the stories that our societies like to tell themselves, the stories that prevent us seeing clearly the extent of the ecological, social and cultural unraveling that is now underway. We are making art that doesn’t take the centrality of humans for granted. We are tracing the deep cultural roots of the mess the world is in. And we are looking for other stories, ones that can help us make sense of a time of disruption and uncertainty.” [dark-mountain.net]
I subscribed to the newsletter, gingerly. I rarely do. But it is a recommendation from you, so I have high hopes!
Thank you. I want to look into this and may subscribe as well. I already subscribe to the "Free Inquiry" quarterly periodical.
Just quickly glanced thru the site. Yikes! I think it will be FUN! TY for posting!
I plan on looking further into the site. It was accompanied by a long but extremely interesting piece in the "Free Inquiry" magazine (one of several under the wing of the American Humanist group).
I hope we find stories that remind us of the strength and sacrifices made by all people instead of just white males.
That should go without saying. However, I think the movement will try to deemphasize the importance of humans.
What a wonderful idea, I'm quite familiar with the process. For me it's iterative, my first great step on this path was to destroy any own ego. At the time it seemed strenuous and disparaging but now only seems to have proven the very escape from such ideas. Ah, how nice to reminisce,
