I can't say what's true here or not, but this examination calls into question whether this is really the earliest known depiction of Jesus and the disciples. The author of the post claims to have contacted the museum, and appears also to have done some art history sleuthing and concludes (rightly or wrongly) that this is 18th century art. They do make the useful-seeming point that if this were really the earliest known depiction that it would likely be extremely famous, require more elaborate security than it is said to have, etc.
