Today it was Mariah Carey. (Two weeks ago it was a different nurse and it was about Lisa Rinna, the time before that it was maybe a pop or rap singer I wasn't familiar with.) I have no idea what she did that was so objectionable (while I assume being perfectly predictable) because I don't want garbage fucking programming, but apparently it was so bad that I couldn't even put on a Christmas-in-July mix because I couldn't figure out a way to prevent Spotify from playing songs off one of the greatest selling Christmas album of all fucking time causing, and I'm quoting our co-workers, "her to become violent. Have you seen her get violent?" Now, there's obviously hyperbole there, but still, that's fucked.

We're playing it for patients, not for us. And nurses aren't allowed to wear ear buds at work.

We play music for the patients, and one of the other nurses HATES Mariah Carey. Nothing about her music, mind you, just that it reminds her of the way she acts on a show basically about her being an out of control diva. Well what the fuck did you expect to see? And if they're behaving the way you know they would to be on the show in the first place, why are you mad?! The whole thing annoys me and unfortunately, you're the only people I can vent to right now.

@JeffMurray I didn't hear anything bad about Mariah Carey, but I hate pop music in general. If the patients don't complain, what that nurse thinks is irrelevant.
