Is it just me, or are you also frustrated and/or annoyed at the carelessness with which other people use words?

Nah, I jest know they're as dumb as crow's call. Arrant errant syntax's impingement on epistemological imperatives highlights the cognitive ontological challenges of the descriptivism and prescriptivism dialectic in communication.

Best said in north Yorkshire accent! 🙂

@anglophone I daren't swallow my diphthongs and triphthongs.

@waitingforgodo But yer fergot yer glottal stop! 😉

@anglophone To say nothing of voiceless glottal fricatives, 'airs on 'ogs, and elision generally.

When I listened to a course on the English language, the professor had rafts of examples where meanings and pronunciations changed over the decades (or centuries). Many of us have been paid to seek precision in our writing, but so many more are satisfied to remember any words that sound right.

Thank you for the insight in your last sentence. My parents were philologists, so I am no stranger to what the professor said.

sometimes im surprised at spelling and grammar mine included

Spelling and grammar are the least of my concerns. See my reply to @Matias for an example of what I mean.

Carelessly misusing words is probably more accurate!

I see misusing words as one example. I see complete failure to express something crucial as another example.

Yes, but I can forgive you.
