I tend to blame liberals for the way government has gone. They tend to vote way less and it has caused the current government. It’s almost like that person that says “I could never vote for someone who eats meat” that person not only insures that a meat eater will win but also possibly someone who will destroy the environment. That person is worse than the republican conservative that knows what they want.
There is the old saw that conservatives will march in lock step liek Nazis, while tryign to get liverals to work togther is like trying to herd cats. it refers to hwo conservatives don't really do much thinking but let others think for them, whiel liberals tend to all think for themselves and thus although they may have similiar ideas, they have a lot fo small disagreements which prevents them from ever gettign all that much done.
I do agree that peopel who don't vote are very much to blame for the government we end up with. Liberals beign less fearful and easy going are nto as l9ikeloy to vote as conservatives who are more afrtaid to not vote. IOt is a bit irresponsible on the part of the liberals who dont' vote, but I dotn' think it is fair to blame all liberals for the behavior of just some.
The Democrats need to build up a core of voters. The Republicans have, Xtians, military, business owners, upper middle class, healthcare institution people, (doctors) and police as their main voting blocs. What do the Democrats have to appeal to for voting blocs? That's where the problem lies.
The dems seem to be short on leaders and a great example is the guy they have placed as the head of the democratic party. He looks so poorly in front of cameras and his answers seem almost like pleas rather than leadership. Nancy has served her term also we need some young blood to revive the party and I hope this womens movement will provide some leaders. We should be out there screeming about the way they are governing but lack speakers in Congress to defend the people.
Start on the local level and build the party through that kind of change. Also understand that not voting is way worse than voting for the worst of two candidates. The power is with the people. The people refuse to use it.
I think I understand your comment. Here in Florida there are over 500,000 more Democrats than Republicans. Yet both Florida houses and the governor are controlled by Republicans. Democrats don't vote. I used to work the polls at my last residence. I worked about 10 years. It always amazed me that in my county the beach precincts where the rich people lived always had a greater percentage of votes tallied than the precincts where the poor and middle class lived.
I agree. There was a lot of trash talking last election about how those who went 3rd party ruined things... but when you look at the numbers, they make up something like 3%. Those who were eligible but did not vote is something like 46%, and on the left more like 60%. The Right didn't "Win", the masses forfeited.
