In the UK, many towns and cities, including mine, started supporting Ukraine by lighting up buildings and hoisting Ukraine flags. 'In solidarity with Ukraine' they say. I used to work with two Russian ladies. They're both married to English husbands and they probably still live in my town. I hope they are not having hard times, suffering hostility towards them. I know many European residents in the UK suffered physical and verbal abuse, vandalism on their properties, etc. by hostile unintelligent Brexiteers before, during and after Brexit negotiations.

It's a crazy world with "tolerance" a current fad. Unless you are not vaccinated was an exception and Russia, sorry, has been an exception for awhile. Just look how their athletes are treated for crimes of authorities, applauded by media as are the snubs from other athletes towards any Russians.
Of course dickheads will think it's ok to attack them because the media, representing society, has encouraged this in the recent past as acceptable.

What is it with our species? We can't wait to blame innocent people for the crimes of their look- a-likes.
People in the USA attacking Asians because of covid. & some of the attackers were African in origin. As the victim becomes a perpetrator. Most of the attackers were men. So might that be a factor? Yes.

Hopefully they will not, most people if they attend carefully know that the Russian support for Putin and his actions is far from warm. And the few assholes who don't, probably could not tell a Russian from a Nigerian anyway.
