An interesting observation.

It’s because they have a strong president

You can see the difference in leadership

@glennlab Cruz isn’t the president

@CourtJester Trumps was when our capital was attacked by Fascist and neo nazis and took no action in spite of heavy casualties among the LEOs (over 140 injured ) . Is that how a strong president acts or is that an act of a traitor?

@glennlab And Biden was announced president an hour later.
So scary…. Cry me a damn River.

Please….

@CourtJester Trump was still president or are you too dense to know history from a year ago. DJT was still in office for 14 more days, you failed to answer, hero traitor?

@glennlab still far better than Biden though. How can anyone argue that?
$1.65 gas, unemployment at an all time low, no inflation, and Biden through executive order canceled everything Trump did within a few days in office.
All he had to do was come into office and do nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Even Obama said “Never under estimate Joe Biden’s ability to fuck things up”.

@CourtJester Trump had the most lost jobs of any administration since Hoover (1929), the highest unemployment rate since it began being measured, and had already signed the surrender papers in Afghanistan, Not exactly what I would call a success. You still never answered the question only played what about isms. I vote for traitor since you won't answer.

@glennlab put down the crack pipe.

@CourtJester the last refuge of a man who has lost is name calling. bye

You mean because they have a strongman president like dictators everywhere - like Hugo Chavez was in Venezuela, or Castro in Cuba ... Saddam in Iraq.

@CourtJester - The president doesn't set the gas prices and big oil has been lax about drilling. Not drilling would indicate they are creating an artificial shortage which drives prices up.

As for Biden's econonic performance .... "Biden's Economic Performance Has Proved Unbeatable"
[bloomberg.com]

@RussRAB so when he cut gas policy by executive order as soon as he took office; that wasn’t his fault?
Are you high???

@CourtJester - You obviously didn't look at the articles.

@CourtJester - Perhaps you will read this one ....
[reuters.com]
"Biden spearheaded a coordinated release of oil from strategic reserves with Japan, India, South Korea, Britain and China in November that helped quell prices - even though, in the end, China did not take part."

"Republicans are pointing fingers at climate-focused policies supported by Biden, a Democrat, for rising prices, but the reality is that oil market is linked to global factors beyond any U.S. political party's control."

@RussRAB think about that at the gas pump.

@CourtJester - I don't have to like the high price of gas any more than you. The reason for it, however, isn't the easy blame you place on Biden. Your comment is more than a bit sophmoric as you direct your discontent at the President who really has little to do with the price of gas. It seems to make you feel better to direct your vitriol at him, but this is likely the result of your own political tribalism rather than anything real. How about you "think about that at the gas pump."

@RussRAB Biden reversed all of Trump’s policies as soon as he got into office. The most executive orders in American history in three days. We went from energy independent to not energy independent and gas prices went up.
It is 100% on Biden’s shoulders.

@CourtJester - Again, you haven't read any of the articles linked. You obviously don't like Biden and likely did like trump, and nothing I say or provide will change your mind. Welcome to the trump cult.

@RussRAB Correct

@CourtJester - By your own words.

A few problems with this in my opinion. 1 the left is far less patriotic (myself included) 2 what are the anti gun nuts going to defend the our country with, bolt action rifles? For me to take this tweet seriously the left and the right would have to embrace personal freedoms

Tejas Level 8 Feb 26, 2022

Patriotism is not waving the flag or following in lockstep. Patriotism is doing what is best for your country and its people even if it means placing yourself in harm's way. I am not an anti gun nut, but I do believe that non sporting weapons should be highly controlled like they are in the rest of the world. Explosives make much better and effective weapons than do guns, take out a platoon or take out a soldier, I would chose to take out a platoon.

@glennlab I agree explosives would be more effective, but like in Ukraine the government is handling out rifles to volunteers. Do you think it would be wise to give civilians explosives? I'm pretty sure that wasn't your argument but that's what I read.

@Tejas No but those of us with the necessary experience and knowledge could do one hell of a number. A single trip to the hardware store and/or the feed store and I'm fixed.

@glennlab - Facebook has a photo of a family assembling Molotov cocktails. Ukrainians are doing what they can to defend their nation.

@RussRAB All you need are a few that know what to do and they can teach others the simple stuff, I think Putin underestimated the resolve of the Ukrainian people. Most do not want to return to Russian rule even when they are ethnically Russian.

I noticed a couple of patriotic people among Ukrainians. They sign up to defend their nation rather than flee even when they could.
