Let's get to know each other a little more. What was your favorite live music event? If you want, let us know when it happened and where.
I'll start. Circle Jerks and GBH. July 2003 at Irving Plaza, NYC.
Ooh, that's really, really tough. Fuck. Shit. Bugger.
Playing? Supporting Cannibal Corpse in '95. Crowd went be-fucken-zerk. Kids stage diving off the balcony.
Watching? Mr Bungle touring on California in 2000.
No, shit, make that The Dillinger Escape Plan in 2002. Or the Beastie Boys and Helmet in 94. Or Lamb in 2003. Or Primus in 93. Or Metallica in 89. Or that time Mixmaster Mike played an unannounced club set and they had $2 beers as an added bonus. Or that fucking amazing bush doof NYE 1999. Or Pixies in 2004. Or Morbid Angel in 1992, when the front 5 rows of seating in the Enmore Theatre ended up as matchwood. FUCK IT, I CAN'T CHOOSE!
My favourite had to be Sade at Amway Arena in Orlando....I’m really looking forward to Beyoncé and Jay Z in London in June!
Too many to list, but...carter usm @ reading uni in the early 90s and their penultimate gig in 2015, jojo namoza (local band) @ black cat studios, mid 80s, front 242 @ brixton palais, early 90s, david bowie @ glastonbury 2000, fun loving criminals @ reading festival 99, NIN every time I've seen them. Currently anticipating manic street preachers on 4th may
They were all good, but :
Now I'm not, nor ever was, much a kiss fan.
I saw them open for black Sabbath around 1973 or 4..it remains one of the best shows I've ever seen. They were on the cusp of becoming what they became.
It was made more memorable because while they absolutely rocked, Sabbath sucked - they were way to high to be onstage.
. Seeing Leslie West live in a small bar was amazing.
. Humble Pie 1972 - Steve Marriott was a joy to behold.
..
Blue Cheer in small venues just before Dickie Peterson died was great.
..
Hot Tuna 1972 small college show was great.
..
Some more, but you get the idea.
Stereophonics supported by Ash and others, Millenium Stadium 2001.
