Yes! I live on the central OR coast. I miss getting morels here, but ther chanterelles and boletes are wonderful.

Not me personally, but I have a good friend who does that every year, and is pretty well known as an expert up in mostly western Canada. If you're from Canada, you'd probably know his name if you've been picking commercially for awhile.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a 'mushroom picker!' Funny how I just thought about them being on the grocery shelve! But, I love mushrooms! And, I would love to be a 'mushroom picker!'

Used to. Ex was into the mycological society, eastern mass.
Sulphurius, pluratus, morels, and such....gymnopolus ?....
Haven't gone hunting since we split though.

There are old mushroom pickers, and there are bold mushroom pickers, but there are no old and bold mushroom pickers!

We pick local mushrooms. Morels mostly. Speaking of, it's just about that time!! ?

Growing them seems safer to me... But hunting them has it's own reward too, I'm sure.

yep, can't beat he taste. Funny, when young I had a few rules for what was safe,
now as I learn more, I am terrified.

I'm one. I'm still adjusting to living in St. Louis, but I hope to get back into mushrooming when I've settled in more.
