Does anyone know why "god" freed the slaves from Egypt, but didn't bother with any other slaves, like those in America?
I mean if he could send Moses to perform miracles to try and scare the shit out of the KING of Egypt, maybe the most powerful man earth at the time, why didn't he scare the Southern Rednecks who were probably much more superstitious...seems like a Slam Dunk Yahweh !
All these miracles are stories. Circulated among people by people who want to rule them. Personal Freedom can be easily thrown out of window
I'll certainly agree, people trying to rule people!
My riligio ridiculous mom
M0m - "Even dogs know not to cross species!"
Me - "People of different colors and races are not a different species. And your dog is over there trying to fuck a stuffed monkey."
My spayed female enjoys the winter throw pillows, but not the summer ones.....
God did not know about any slaves in America at that time. In fact, neither god nor the bible writers knew America even existed. Later on we find that god really did want to keep the races separate but he was too dumb to know that humans would invent airplanes. We humans have came along much faster than that god person ever expected we would.
Which makes humans pretty smart, since God knows and sees EVERYTHING.
Bottom line is that people have ALWAYS been in the forefront of change! Much smarter than an imaginary "god". Just as religion has always bent to the will of the people ie with slavery, gay marriage, men and womens roles, the woman's right to choose... And then the STORY of "god" changes and brushes all evil off on another imaginary creature "the devil" suposibly insolvent him of any wrong doing, it's all a SHAM!
It's a fictional story, they were his chosen people the israelites they were slaves, and the ten commandments are instructions for the israelites on how to master their own slaves, the fictional god endorsed slavery, him and his fictional cronies jesus, moses peter and paul did too,,
That the whole of the Moses story is myth is especially egregious. First, because the myth plays such a central role in Judaism, and second because it implies the Jews had any hand in building the pyramids. For shame.
And, of course, Judaism has done absolutely nothing to respond to this. That is a perfect example of why religion is degenerate bullshit.
It turns out that the people who made up these stories were pretty short-sighted, had no prophetic abilities, and didn't make any allowances for critical thinkers. This is why they later made it a rule that it's a sin to question the scriptures, and that doing so banned one from the afterlife.
Shit! Now what? I don't have a Plan B !
First of all, other than the biblical account, there is no other 'evidence' that the Exodus ever really happened. Second, according to the story, the Jews were god's "chosen people". However, having his chosen people endure 1,000 years of slavery makes me wonder if being "chosen" is really a good thing. I mean according to the story, it took over 1,000 years for god to finally come up with a guy to lead them out of slavery.
I don't think it was slavery itself that god had any problem with. The bible condones slavery, and if you consider the passage that says "slaves know your masters", and what "know" means in the biblical sense, it condones sexual human trafficking as well.
This pretty much demonstrates how secular morality has surpassed biblical morality.
IF the biblical account was real, it blows up any "moral superiority" argument
Well for a start slavery in the USA really happened, the whole Moses freeing the Israelite slave story has no basis in history at all and is recorded no where else other than in the Babble.
Most of the Moses biography is lifted straight from the Egyptian legend of the Birth and life of Horus, born in secret, hidden in a basket in the bulrushes for a princess to find, brought up with his true mother as his wet nurse etc.
The Noah thing was an existing story from other cultures too.
And supposedly happening in bible story long after existing cultures were here on earth and thriving.
They do not recall being wiped out.
And all earth repopulated by Noah's incest.
@BufftonBeotch Gilgamesh for one
Well I know some “christians” first hand who believe god created colored peopled to serve whites….
And it's a shame that it played out that way, where was "god" then? Moreover, how the hell do African Americans support such bullshit today, "god"
@JoseKeil3406 I will never understand how and why black Americans propagate white mans bullshit!??
Was he really freeing generic slaves? Or was he just working for his 'Chosen People'(tm)?
I couldn't see where he/she had any trouble with slavery specifically.
He/She just didn't like people messing with his/her folks.
BTW...I agree with jlynn37 and Betty. It's all a fantasy anyway.
