Greetings and salutations! I am brand new to this site but it seems super interesting. I was raised Roman Catholic and took Religious Studies classes during my university days. It’s a cliche, but the easiest way to become an atheist/agnostic/skeptic is to actually read and study the Bible. There is some seriously fucked up shit in there.

I will never say I’m 100% atheist because I won’t know if there is some supreme power or universal energy or whatever you wanna call it until I’m dead. In the mean time I question everything and call bullshit on organized religion.

I, too, was raised Roman Catholic and at 3 years of age was put into a Catholic Orphanage. There I was beaten (still have a broken, never attended to tail bone where a nun kicked me). I recall asking my parents many questions about this guy called god and they never gave me any good answers, only made my mind more confused. Once I started educating myself about the church and its horrific history, the pope makes me want to puke. I totally agree religions are all bullshit....stories written by men to control people and make $. I feel like I have PTSD that partially robbed my childhood. Thanks for your post. I identify.

Welcome here. I concur with taking the college classes, I took 5 of them at the Lutheran college I attended for my first degree.
