As absurd as the whole concept of the "Trinity" appears, I thought one way to maybe make it somewhat believable would be to think of god as the OP, Jesus as his avatar in the RPG that is the Earth, & the "Holy Spirit" as his Twitter persona.

Yes this was exactly the meaning of an Avatar in the original sense of the word, Jesus was not the first supposed avatar of a god, but nothing in Christianity is original.

I'm sure that Tyson and Nye are honored to be in company with Sagan, but I doubt that any of them would approve of their deification, even in jest.

BN and NDT both have an excellent sense of humor. I'm sure they'd see the funny.
As for CS, he's dead. It doesn't matter.
@KKGator No doubt they all have or had good senses of humor. But as for approving of their depiction as the Holy Trinity, I would have to hear it from them. Frankly, I doubt it. If for no other reason than that they would not want to see themselves put on a pedestal above so many other great scientists. NDT, CS, and BN would be the first to say that their achievements were only possible because they were standing on the shoulders of giants.
@Flyingsaucesir That's the thing. I don't think any of them would care enough about it to disapprove. Being logical, their reactions would be irrelevant. It's been done.
@KKGator We can speculate all day....
Why not the suspended mural on the inside of the dome of the capitol building in Washington is called "The Apotheosis of George Washington" and depicts the 1st president being raised up to be a god.
