The way I see it, this is the human version of the lemming's mass suicides from overpopulation.

This isn't big enough to make a dent in the population. But it's enough to terrorize it.
@Flyingsaucesir . What if it is just getting started. It's been kicking up the volume since the 1990s. In the 1980s we only had one or two shootings per year. In the 1990s we got started with Columbine and it has gone up to four to six mass shooting per year, but since 2015 the number each year has been increasing. It seems to also be some sort of contest between the shooters to see who can kill the most before being apprehended. Now Americans have more guns than people.
@OldGoat43 All good points but still it's not enough to really affect the population size. If it ever did get that big, it would, Ironically, provide an argument for letting in more immigrants. The MAGA-hatters would just love that! 
@Flyingsaucesir . Don't forget, we just had a schitzy blond president who was itching the push that red button on his suitcase. That would have caused multiple reactions around the globe, with several nutjob to launch theirs and that DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE RAISED NUMBERS to make a "dent".
@OldGoat43 I know he wanted to have the US military shoot peaceful American protesters down in the streets. I haven't heard about any itchy fingers on the nuclear button.
I just have no words left.

Feels surreal, don't it? Like deja vu all over again...and again...and again...
Even though Crimo threatened to kill family members, police only seized his knife collection, and didn't charge him, By not charging him, he didn't get flagged when he bought the rifles. Also, Crimo's father assisted in the purchasing.
Both Crimos are Trumpers. The shooter frequented far right wing websites, but the media repeatedly reported that this was not a hate crime. Given the much higher percentage of Jews living in Highland Park, saying Crimo wasn't motivated by religious hatred is absurd.
Again, This isn't about guns. It's about fascist Christians having found a way to intimidate the rest of the population without consequences. Mass shootings serve the GOP purpose of intimidating minorities that lean democrat: students, Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, Asians and LBGTQ that the GOP would like to disenfranchise. They all happen to be the targets of mass shooters. This is NOT a coincidence.

I feel furious and deeply frustrated that AR-15 style rifles are not banned in America, along with high-capacity ammunition magazines. Ban ghost guns, too.
Guns are destroying public life. It makes me angry at what this country has become.

I have handled an M16A1 rifle, I was active duty Army at the time. And I will say this until I die, NO CIVILIAN NEEDS TO HAVE ACCESS TO THIS WEAPON. It is only suitable for mass destruction. If some yahoo wants to handle it, let them join the military and handle it under close supervision.
On average one mass shooting every just under 14 hours or so.
If after a mass shooting is no time to bring politics into it according to Republicans means they never will look for a solution because the next shooting will probably happen before you take another shit.

The rise in mass shootings is a change, just not a positive one. But I know what you mean.
I believe that if the evangelical, repubs take over the power structure, there will be a change in the USA like you can not even imagine.
@jlynn37 I can imagine it, I studied German society from the 1930's.
Fascism isn't an original thing, they always follow the same moral failings every time.
@jlynn37 You are right about that. There will be civil war, first initiated by our enemies on the right and then joined by people like me on the left, because by then, my side will no longer have a choice but to fight in the streets or be killed if not already put into camps. It will be Serbia/Kosovo, only over here.
