When I was in Tunisia many years ago, locals were selling prickly pears to tourists. So I bought a couple, and they were actually nice. But then when I went on an excursion to the Sahara desert, I realised that prickly pears were abundant in the wild. I could've just picked as many as I liked without paying for them. Bastards... 😆

They make a fair monshine also.
The birds love them too hat is why Queensland is so full of prickly pear.
Just around the corner outside an old abandoned fruitbarn there is a variety with yellow fruit.

There are many cactii with edible fruit, dragon fruit being one example.
Around Wowan in Central Qld there is a round cactus beside the road that tastes quite sweet and fruity also.

I live in the desert and I've eaten those since I was a kid, they're very good.
