My rant here is why can't the two parties agree on sensible gun measures? I don't know, something that makes it difficult for a 19 year old living in a metropolitan area having a pistol and ammo for it. Seems pretty reasonable to me that 2 rational men with different types of feelings towards guns could reasonably agree on some sort of reasonable measures to remedy this type of thing happening. Taking away the 19 year old city boys ability to get a gun in an urban environment vs a 17 year old in NE using a pistol for target practice. Reasonable people can carve out a reasonable solution to this type of problem. It's not asking them too much to do it.

Shootings serve the interests of those who promote the policies that facilitate them, and that includes the GQP, but also Putin, who funds the NRA, Christian Nationalists and Federalist Society. That is why the victims nearly always are from groups identified by Christian Nationalists and GQP as being enemies, whether schools, LBGTQ, Blacks, Jews, Muslims etc. You shouldn't think that's just an unlucky coincidence. The GQP interest served by these mass murders is INTIMIDATION.

The democrap solution on guns is for the government to have control of all the guns just like in Nazi Germany and the communist countries like China and North Korea. You can go ahead and give up or register yours. I plan on keeping mine and I have no intention of registering any of them into a federal database.

That is assuming there is some sort of longterm reasonable solution that would actually work, and regarding the scenario above I don't think that's realistic. Besides, if we up the legal age limit to twenty-one to own guns then we would/should probably up the age limit on some other things as well, namely the minimum age to cast a vote and Military service etc. I get the feeling though that suggestion would not go over well for most, but that would sound fair to me assuming anyone under age twenty-one is too immature to own firearms they would also be too immature to vote and use weapons in the Military.

Please note my restraint on other factors that gun control laws would be useless against like those who have inside contacts that steal weapons off of local Guard bases and sell them on the streets (I once worked with someone who did that). All the laws won't change a single thing in this world if we do not do something about the problems with addictions, mental illness, and a broken education system that constantly lets down our youths and in turn gives them nothing positive to look forward to.

All the laws/ rules are there, just not enforced eg who stores their weapon correctly ie secured, bolt removed, ammo locked away somewhere else etc?

tough ask finding reasonable people when you have the financial clout of the Rifleman Association and gun manufacturers. Money and greed trumps any reason. Errr money, greed and religion, trumps any reason.

Reasonable people could.

Money gets in the way of reason. The NRA is the main problem, I think.
