If you created the higher power "government " which is imaginary and followed its orders OR

You created the higher power "god" and followed its orders,

Are you any less delusional than those you criticize?

Sooooooo, this poster went through this thread and deleted all his pathetic "rebuttal" posts, which got stupider & stupider........certainly a better comment on this post than any of us could make, IMO!

2

If you laid golden eggs would telephone poles have doors?

The microcephalic that is @Sailer has seen fit to block me, LOL!

@anglophone
I think The interlooper and Sailer are both russian bots.

1

Sounds like you prefer chaos and anarchy.

@Sailer no, not at all. There has to be some sort of law and order with out believing in an invisible made sky daddy. Huge difference.

2

Ummm, what?

My first thought as well. LOL

@Sailer at age 74, i prefer to spend my time enjoyably and productively, which is mostly the same thing to me. Juvenile Claptrap is merely annoying...

It appears you did not think this question through.....maybe the CONservative group would be a better place for your question.

5

This is silly. If you think government is imaginary break some laws and see if you do not end up in a prison somewhere. Most of us get along in the world by following laws. If not, there is another place for you.

@Sailer One difference is that our imaginary government is not stoning prostitutes to death.

6

FFS!!
That's just silly.

Can you say BLOCKED 🤠

Good Question. I think, not believe, that all centroism is delusional like fairytales. Like Richard
Dawkins, a champion for atheist, quotes . Nationism is more dangerous than Religion. To think someone believes that top politicians ever keep most of their promises and want freedom for all, is delusional. Each President become worst than the other one before it. Until the abusive Government fear their people changes, not the other way around. Then positive change happens for the masses more from the bottom- up, not the top down. , as it has happened in cycles, since the Romans.

I guess that you take great comfort in your belief that everything is a matter of belief.

I think @Sailer would benefit greatly if he was to seek the services of a professional psychologist as a matter of urgency.

@anglophone I am inclined to think that he would only use such an encounter to reinforce his beliefs.

@Vickichase583 I'm not sure how you managed to accumulate 66 points given that you have made no posts or comments and have no profile. I think that you have accidentally landed on this site.

No better than your first feeble laughable effort.

Let me guess: soon you'll be flinging words around like 'socialism' and 'Marxism' and 'Communism' and other words you read on the back of a cornflakes packet.

There's a group on this site for so-called Conservatives. Plenty of room there for Cuckoos in this nest. Check them out, and spare us this nonsense.

Aw, please no. @Sailer promises to be a great source of amusement, this where he is the butt of his own jokes! 😉

Just like the 12 years of indoctrination camps schooling. Shut up, remember what we tell you, and there is only one answer.
Sorry, the are many ways to address issues and many answers to a problem and formed by many prospectives. One doesn't have to join the an over ego world of any kind of Centroism group to know all the answers or to limited and over ego world. Better off pulling life answers, from a team of strong individuals. And from oneself with a healthy consciousness, individualism and integrity.

@Castlepaloma I can't argue with you view of an over ego world but the only individual with such qualifications, Joseph Campbell, is dead. Maybe he'll come back, though? If there are many answers to a problem then sit quietly until one happens. Odds say it will so long as humans stay away from the problem. Whats your model for education and how will it not have any teachings which might be called "indoctrinations?"

God is a word without fixed meaning, it can mean anything you want it to. Therefore there would be no difference between a higher power government and a god, they are the same thing. Just as if you overvalue and over respect them, you can make the equivalent of a god, and therefore a true god, out of tradition, culture, art, sport, political ideology, and even religion itself.

I know some who worship religion, as an institution, mindlessly , though they claim not to believe in a literal god, yet in worshiping religion, (Which is what they are doing.) they make it into just the same sort of fake idol, with the same failings, as a theist god.

As I have said to @LovinLarge, I have no time for @Sailer's mental masturbation.

@anglophone Yes I saw that, but I am having a boring day and looking for a diversion.

If there is a God to most people, it would be called Government. Reasons?

  1. What group has the most dissatisfied jobs than a public servant for the Government.
  2. What group has 80% of the People disliking them.
  3. Who takes a third or half your money, with exception of the wealthy, who are another level of puppets masters.
  4. After the Government bosses you around all day. Then you have to beg or pray for them to give you privileges.
  5. Government often acts against the constitution like God of hypocrites. At lease Religion has rules, still both combined are far too much like Gods. It's why half of the world's poorest people of the total world's population. Drives not more than a bicycle and the 1% pollutes most of the world, like they have a super hiway to heaven anyway..

@Castlepaloma Most people do have a god and they call that Being god, or Allah, or Yahweh, or Brahma, and believe that Thou has chosen them to be special. The big problem with dogmatic beliefs is that they are punitive for those who don't buy the popular god. Government is not perfect and that is why our system has so many checks and balances to get anything past many votes. It is a tiresome system because humans, like you, are tiresome.

@Sailer I quote myself, "Our system has so many..." so it's our, States of America, government. I have a belief that govt needs to exist and that, once again, our system is a brilliant one. It is not dogmatic as we change it with our votes when it has become tiresome. I also believe 45 caused voters to become tired of Con stewardship and is overthrowing them. Since stewardship is not rote it is not dogmatic.

@Sailer I am an American and I define my nation as OUR for other Americans.

@Sailer Yes but the problem with comparing government to religion is that, while I accept that governments are a burden to the population, it would be hard to do away with government and achieve total anarchy. Since not only does government give us a few important services, but even more importantly, without an existing government there would be nothing to stop anyone , probably people with criminal intent, from forming a new government entirely for their own benefit and profit, without even attempting to provide any token benefit to the wider population to justify their cost. While religion is at least something which you are free to join or not.

Therefore given that you are forced to take on one burden, why take on a second.

@Sailer Oh I can see that government is fake OK. I long ago followed Stalin's reasoning, " The only part of the human condition you can not fake, is power. " Because, as he went on to explain, it is all fake to start with, so any attempt to give someone fake power, will always result in them getting real power.

You seem to have made the common assumption that because people reject theist belief, that means they have to reject all belief, but we all have to believe in many things, rejecting one belief does not mean that you are inconsitstent in not rejecting them all. Rejecting the idea of fairies at the bottom of the garden, does not mean that I have to reject belief that my wife is faithful. You may chose not to believe in government, and I may even join you, all you have to do is come up with a better alternative.

All laws are indeed fake and depend completely on people accepting them on belief, but there are many benefits to that. In my country we drive our cars on the left hand side of the road, but there is no real reason for that, since in France only twenty miles away , they drive on the right. So there is no material reason to pick one side or the other, but by making a social contract with all the other drivers in the country, we are all able to drive where we want to go, quick and in moderately safely, with few accidents.

If it was not for that quite irrational belief, we would all have to drive at three miles per hour, or meet with horrible injuries and death twenty times a day. But as I pointed out at the begining of this post, if I want to enjoy the benefits of the social contracts we call laws, then I would far rather that the formulation and occassional adjusting of those quite imaginary beliefs called laws, was in the hands of live humans who are to some degree accountable, rather than unellected and self appointed interpreters of badly garbled old books.

If you really want to understand this issue you would be well placed to google solon and his political thought.

@rainmanjr

What checks and balances?, Each President gets worst since Kenny and more destructivly creative like Gids. Why would I choose God or President to worship, when I can led my own life much better.

No atheist in the Government list of powers just register atheist as a religion While white Christians totalterrimism dominate. Prince Charles, now King is going backwards. Who wants to go back before the time of the US in 1776. Where the whole world was rule by kings or extreme dictatorship worldwide.

Centroism of both is like a monopoly. The new world order proclaimed by George Bush was the promise of 1945 fulfilled, a world in which international institutions, led by the United Nations, guaranteed international peace and security with the active support of the world's major powers. That world order is a chimera. Even as a liberal internationalist ideal, it is infeasible at best and dangerous at worst. It requires a centralized rule-making authority, a hierarchy of institutions, and universal membership. Equally to the point, efforts to create such an order have failed. The United Nations cannot function effectively independent.

Recently billionairs is another form of centroism. It's a movement of taking over millionaires like myself with great success. Some call us the dinosaur of the middle class. Far from any example of equality for all

@Castlepaloma I can't make sense of that but I also wasn't trying very hard. You and I are not in any way on the same wave length so I doubt anything I post will meet your approval. Just let it be. I don't bother with the stuff you post so no worries.

3

Silly query. why is one imaginary and the other not?

Everything achieved in our lives, was all once imagined.

@Castlepaloma As we are an illusion, except the electron, imagination is all we've got. Even after something has been "achieved."

5

I take it English is not your first language.

I have no time for @Sailer's mental masturbation.
