Fitness is Racism! I'm sure most people have heard about this new 'thing' going around about fitness is a form of racism now. I know,,, but seriously, it's out there. This is the first I've seen of it, and I'm not sure this wasn't staged, but it dosen't surprise me a bit that some woke left wingers out there actually believe this is an actual thing. 😒 [twitter.com]

Everything under the sun seemingly is racist nowadays, lol. I tend to ignore such rants, as people like that cannot be reasoned with.

I've seen things along these lines, where accusations are leveled that taking measures to be healthy are forms of racism or white privilege, but I don't think it's very common. This particular video was put out by "libsoftiktok" — which is a far-right account that tries to discredit the political left — so this is just anti-progressive propaganda. I wouldn't give it too much consideration.

[en.m.wikipedia.org]

The intro says "Wanting to be skinny is racist" , and that is exactly what the person in the video is saying. I fail to see where or how this is trying to be 'anti-progressive' and discredit the political left if they are in fact just reposting stuff actual politically left progressive post.

@Captain_Feelgood Oh, is it a repost from elsewhere? That wasn't clear to me, but now that you mention it I see the user handle within the video is for another account. The "libsoftiktok" account is run by someone who tries to undermine progressive perspectives, and has gone on programs to make accusations against the left in general, so I thought this might have been a satire video of sorts that was making fun of anti-racist sentiments to show how ridiculous the left is. We can all find something nutty that someone, somewhere on the political fringes espouse, but those things have been weaponized against center-left and center-right folks as though the nutty positions are mainstream. My thought is that a silly idea that almost nobody holds isn't a problem and is unworthy of serious consideration, unless it's held by someone in a position of real power and/or influence.

@resserts "is it a repost from elsewhere?" ... REALLY? Do you not ever research anything? Thats ALL libsoftiktok post. They post this ridiculous BS that progressive liberals post. Thats all.. How could you not know this? OHHH,,, wait.. that's right, you only watch MSM news and only pay attention to radical left-wing propaganda. You're not a 'center-left'... You're a radical leftist that only pays attention to YOUR radical left-wing agenda pushing rags. Seriously, you need to open up your info intake a bit and get a broader perspective. 😣

@Captain_Feelgood

I apologize for upsetting you. This seems to mean a lot to you, and that's great if you find value or enjoyment in it, but I don't follow a ton of politically charged media. I've seen the owner of the libsoftiktok account a couple of times, on conservative media (my father watches a lot of televised news programming), and I found her to be divisive and lacking substance — which admittedly might not have been an accurate impression — but, no, I don't follow her. That's why I don't know everything they post on that account, only what I've seen of the owner in a couple of short interviews. As for your assertion that I'm a "radical leftist" with a "radical left-wing agenda," well, you're entitled to your opinion of me — I can't control your perception. Conservatives tend to think I'm liberal; Liberals tend to think I'm conservative. I do try to keep abreast of current events from a variety of news sources from multiple perspectives (but I avoid televised news as much as I can — the format is too cursory), but politics and culture wars aren't really a hobby for me; I have other things I'd rather focus on that I find more satisfying or valuable (e.g., work takes up most of my time, volunteer activities take up much of the remainder, and what little is left I try to spend with friends and family). I don't pay too much attention to the political fray, especially in recent years, because it's intentionally divisive. I used to get quite worked up about things, but I realized all I was doing was increasing my chances of having a heart attack before I'm 50 (and heart disease is prevalent in my family). Again, I'm sorry that I upset you and that I've disappointed you in some way regarding my approach to news and politics or my lack of comprehensive awareness of social media content. It wasn't my intention to start an argument or to cause hard feelings.

Trust me @resserts , I'm not upset. Not at you personally anyway. Ignorance DOES on the other hand get my goat from time to time. Thinking that was a video created by LOTT as satire lit that fuse I guess. If you are in fact centrist, and wish to comment on stuff, PLEASE do some homework first. Otherwise you will most likely come across like the rest of the ill-informed leftist progressives on here. Cheers
