"Would you buy a car without first giving it a test drive on a road?
"No, I thought not.
"Then why would you marry somebody without first having a test fuck in a bed?"
Following up on your test driving analogy @anglophone
Reminder: Pre-Ordering A Car You've Never Driven Is A Bad Idea
I came across this story today and had to share it.
Thank you for that. It is a perfect example of what I was talking about.
@anglophone No worries. Yeah, it is, especially the comments about the relationship between the driver and the car.
Pretty stupid analogy, most really good sex comes with a fun learning curve.
Times change. When my mother was in high school, women were called sluts if they had unmarried sex.
Men still want to marry a virgin in many countries and religions today. India, Middle East, Catholics, Muslims, Mormons and more.
Before committing to a permanent relationship, it’s important to know how compatible you actually are.
I have come to the conclusion that marriage is not worth it. With the divorce rate so high and blended families, what is the point. The expense of a wedding could go to better and more practical things.
A commitment is only as strong as the amount of effort put into it. A strong one can last a lifetime.
Dude, it's a lot classier just to say that you wouldn't buy a pair of shoes without trying them on first. At least here, everyone knows what you mean.
But now that you mention it, I'd go a step further. I think that the couples who live together before marriage are more likely to stay together longer.
Couldn't agree more! SOOO many small things can drive you insane and it's good to know them ahead of time!
I was with my then partner for 18 months before we got married, and we are still going strong.
@anglophone There are so many wonderful benefits to a loving partnership. I am very pleased that you have a wonderful woman to love. A good man like yourself is deserving of it. I know that you are a good partner because I know you sincerely care about people. Thank you for accepting my comment in the spirit it was intended.
Agree on that. Met in October and it took me 14 months to convince her to get married, She was committed, just didn't think the piece of paper meant we were any more together. Yeah, but that paper meant that you are now covered with insurance. 36 years, 4 months and 2 days 'till she passed.
