A fetus is not a person. The idea that it is is a recent invention of the religious right. Don't force your religious beliefs on others.

However, whatever your stance on abortion, comparing the number of abortions to the number of school shootings just shows how insignificant the issue of school shootings really is. You can also compare school shootings to death by dog attack, bicycle accident, horse riding accidents, and bee stings to see how insignificant the problem really is.

And @Flyingsaucesir While comparing school shootings and abortions is an apples to oranges argument, this is not the case. The meme is about How certain people respond to certain things. Thus, the meme is calling out responses of people, especially those who are hypocrites. Most saner people would think that "only 40" school shootings is still too many.

@Beowulfsfriend, @Flyingsaucesir It appears that roughly 4300 children and teens were killed by firearms in 2020. However, of those 4300, only 40 children per year are killed in school shootings. The overwhelming majority of those were killed away from school. Suicides, gang related killings etc. So, again, let's put things in perspective:

600,000 unborn children are killed per year in the USA by abortions.
4300 children per year are killed by firearms.

That's a ratio of 150 to 1.

Now of those 4300 children per year killed by firearms, 40 are killed in school shootings,

That's a ratio of 108 to 1.

So you are looking at a problem (child and teen death by firearms) that is less than 1% as large as the abortion issue.

Then if you look at school shootings vs. death by firearms, it makes up less than 1% of those deaths.

That doesn't stop the lefties from doing everything they can to instill fear in the population. Both my son in high school and my daughter in jr. high lose 1/2 a school day per year for "active shooter drills", when their time would be much better spent on "bicycle safety", "avoiding bees", and "avoiding aggressive dogs".

When you calculate the time wasted 1/2day per child * 49.7 millions children per year in public schools, you get 25 million days per year wasted preparing for a school shooter. A lifetime is roughly 27,000 days, so you get

25 million days wasted / 27,000 days per life 925 lives per year wasted to try to prevent a problem that takes 40 lives per year.

Anybody who did the cost benefit analysis would see that the emphasis on school shootings is an incredible waste of human life, but that's not the goal. The goal is to create a fearful population willing to give up their constitutional rights.
