It is spring in Nebraska, and we have our first Tornado alert of the season!
I have been home today cuz I have the crud from hell. Thinking I should do something useful and easy I went out to the deck and cleaned out the pots from last years plantings. It is muggy and really quiet out there. The clouds are various shades of gray. Yah, tornado weather for sure! I will be in the basement if anyone needs me.
Wow your'e all tough cookies out there -
A native American Indian woman came to give us a talk here in N.I.
She said her mother told her when she was little about this country called England where there were no poisonous spiders, no hurricanes, no snakes that bit, and she dreamed of being here and couldn't believe it was such a safe space -
But I think on the whole its mainly us humans that make it unsafe. I wouldnt be arguing with a tornado however even though we never had one!
I'd rather live where I know bad weather is coming than to live where the earth might start shaking with no warning. I have a safe space to go to when tornadoes are near, you just have to use common sense. Though I realize how uncommon that is.
