The article was about a trying to wash the slavery depicted in the bible as beneficial to the slave and not to the biblical master. The article's author was not agreeing.

Christians try to explain away Biblical slavery because they know that any sane person knows that if the Bible condones slavery then it wasn't inspired by a God.

Considering that most of the god theories out there were formed more than a thousand years ago and repeatedly airbrushed to fit the interpreters'' idea of modern life, I'd say that any god was whackadoodle nowadays. Which makes said god's followers batshit crazy.
