Just a thought on the ever ongoing gun debate in the US.

Shouldn't we ALL be focused on what causes a person to go bonkers and kill people and not the tool they used?

I mean feel about guns any way you want. It don't fucking matter. If someone wants you dead right now and is planning it your ass is fucking dead. What the fuck do you care if they shoot you or throw you off a fuckin cliff? You don't care, you're dead.

Focusing on gun anything at this point seems like saying "I'm ok with people killing people so long as it's not incredibly easy to do so in mass quantities."

Gotta start somewhere, I suppose, and it's harder to push dozens of people off a cliff than shoot them. I no longer pay attention to the shootings and accept that they won't stop because of public pressure. If they stop it will be because new, younger, people who grew up with this fear as an issue will become the Congress which does it. Far more kids will die from climate change than shootings and we're unlikely to stop that. As you say, dead is dead so why care about the kids?

I agree, the focus should be on the motivation(s) behind such acts of violence and not the objects that were used. An ever increasing number of people nowadays are dictated to by their emotions, and tend to obsess over the wrong things. Oddly enough, I think such people are mentally disturbed themselves, as being that emotionally driven couldn't possibly be good for one's health.
