I’ve got my petticoats in a wad this morning. I have Covid. It’s mild. It started Monday morning and by Wednesday morning it was feeling almost gone. It’s so mild, it is like the mildest cold I’ve had in years. But I got tested because I am flying next Tuesday and just wanted to make sure I could make a responsible decision about it. I’m taking Paxlovid and am told it will be okay to fly. But this morning, I got a message from the Arizona Public Health Services Department wanting me to answer questions. The same department that did absolutely nothing to enforce mask mandates during the first year of the pandemic. I called them up and told them to shove their survey up their ass. They did zero to protect the population during the worst of it and NOW they want to ask questions? They can bugger off. smh
Could this turn out to end with an upside?
Could you develop immunity to at least some forms of COVID?
Good luck.
I believe it does improve protection against the variant I got…which is unknown to me. My doctor says my five vaccines have a lot to do with the low level of severity. The weird thing is that I got a pretty bad cold six weeks ago that went into Bronchitis and I was SURE that I must have Covid and so was my doctor, but the test at the county hospital was negative. This week, it was so mild, I was sure it wasn’t Covid, but wanted to test, just in case. I had managed to go all these years without contracting it. No matter how careful one is, it apparently cannot be avoided forever. I still wear a mask to markets and retail stores. I wore a mask to go see the new Avatar movie. Guess I’m pretty well protected for a while…
Fortunately, the Covid virus is becoming less virulent. I suppose a parallell would be with when Spanish conquistadores brought the common cold with them to South America. Thousands died before the population developed an immunity to its deadly effects.
