Death by religion: [abc.net.au] Jehovah's Witness, of course.
I'm not surprised that the JWs would proscribe the transfusion, but it seems out of character for them to allow the surgery. In any case, she was pretty advanced in years, and not in good health, so if she decided to call it quits,...eh!
I remember in HS, one of the JWs touting the use of a blood substitute that one of "their" docs created. And, yes, 50 years on, it does exist, EXCEPT.... it can only be used in small amounts and lasts just one day. From what I read, it's pretty useless except in a few scenarios like on a battlefield before shipping the bleeder to where real blood is plentiful.
Even plasma is a stop gap but can be donated twice a week which I did for awhile. Not a center near me anymore.
The irony is they drink wine representing his blood and wafers representing his body. So how is that reconciled by these fknuts?

I don't think JW's do the wafer wine thing.
@BufftonBeotch Well I looked it up before asking because to me that would be a big NO THANKS but they eat the bread and drink the blood. Yessir those religious peoples are freaking weird,
"“Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, . . . for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me.”—John 6:53-56." [jw.org]
@K9JetLee999 lmao. well woohoo you.
@K9JetLee999 John 6:53-56 : Hannibal Lector's favorite verse?
@Flyingsaucesir With fava beans.
That religion killed Prince as well.
He wouldn't get the hip replacement surgery he needed because it would have required blood transfusion and he instead stayed on the pain meds.
This particular tragedy is exclusive to the JW's. They believe that the bible says you are not supposed to eat blood and that is what they claim getting a transfusion is. You are "eating blood." Like all of the antivaxxer crap posted in here the JW's will come up with a zillion things that can happen to you if you get a transfusion.
And I wonder if the 10 year old actually was given all the care he needed to survive his illness or if the religion killed him as well.
keeps on happening. Over and over again.
So sadly true.
That is bound to happen if they keep killing the children--poor hapless babies. They should sacrifice one of their own adults. Lets see how fast that rule hits the garbage can.
