As House Republicans hold the American economy hostage with threats of default, Kevin McCarthy claims "it's not a revenue problem." He is sooooo wrong! The Bush and Trump tax cuts for the rich exploded the deficit, adding $10 trillion to the national debt since 2001. Under Trump, our 247-year-old debt increased by 25% in only 4 years! But McCarthy would rather cut funding to social programs that the most vulnerable among us depend on, rather than have the richest pay their fair share.

A large gap between rich and poor is a hallmark of every authoritarian system and failed state.
