It's called Indigenous Peoples Day in Washington State.
More than a dozen states and the District of Columbia now recognize Indigenous Peoples Day. Those states include Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia and Washington and Wisconsin.
Our Aboriginals say and feel the same about Captain Cook. Every year on Australia Day our first nations salute cook in the exact same manner. Can't say I disagree or blame them.
