The "My Alerts" area has always held 15-20 items, at a minimum...and i have been on here, commenting, liking, etc., the same amount as usual, about 2x a day.
Now it is down to 4 items, Only, no new ones in 3-4 days.
This has Never happened, not even close, so i assume this is the site crumbling again?

Sooo, I return here about 7 hours later and there are 79 Alerts........really?!

I haven't noticed a difference in mine.
Try testing it in another browser or clearing cache in the current, 'closing' the browser and starting to login again to see if you notice a change. Sites storing cookies and cache makes a difference. They do it to make pages download faster.
@St-Sinner I have 2 sites, this is one,where I Always close all open windows before I enter.

Closing is not enough. Do you clear cache before closing? At work, we face this issue every day. Some browser interface systems are cache heavy to avoid server load.
You can keep saved passwords but need to clear all else.
