I was always "labeled" as the black sheep of our family, by aunts, uncles and cousins. I just corrected them and stated that I wasn't the black sheep in their midst.... I am the eagle.

Sometimes being a good person ends up with you being scape goated for others behaviour in my experience.

I was very much a black sheep, but now I spend almost no time with my family. That changes quite a bit of things.

I've always wore that one with pride.

Black sheep is about the tamest thing I've been called. Usually I come back with "better shot for a goat than a sheep." I've also been told I'm too smart for my own good. Be nice if my bank account reflected that.

I was the black sheep for a long time. Now, those who called me that are dead.
That bullshit died with them.

I am and always have been the black sheep in our family. I do regret a lot of things that I've done or not done, in hindsight, but at the time, I took the correct decisions for me, or did the best I could. Now that both parents have passed on, both my sisters rarely talk to me. That's a matter of regret, but is perhaps unavoidable given my mental health issues, and what I believe are incorrect judgements about me by my sisters. I am and always have been true to myself.

I'm definitely the black sheep in my strict catholic family. Divorced and an atheist...with those two you don't get a third strike.

I wear it like a crown! I was never afraid to be me! I love my family! My daughter is the tye dyed sheep of our family! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Lol

Me too, and yes I am the black sheep.

I am the black sheep of my family, covered in the blackest of crows.

Yes, I was a disappointment to my mother, dad was just puzzled but not critical or unapproving. I just did not conform to their idea of 'normal' and religion had nothing to do with it - lol.

I have always done things my family disapprove of.I am the colored sheep in the flok. Do I regret my life, never. I am retired and happy in my relationships with others. So if shit sticks, let it. If others have a problem with it, it their problem, not mine !

I’m the red headed black sheep amongst my family of birth; always have been. I developed defiance and stubbornness at an early age when I realized nothing about me was ever good enough for my mother. So, I stopped caring/trying, and lived to my own standards. No regrets.

I can identify!!

I moved out when I was 16 because I didnt think I was going to get any better

If my shit is sticky I break out the wet wipes.

Serious answer: aye, I'm the sheep of probably a dozen colours in my family. They don't even talk to me since I moved away, and that's fine by me.

By who's perception are you black sheep, and do their opinion(s) matter.
Personally I've found judging myself by another's standards too troublesome to bother much with.
So I guess whatever it means - black sheep - sticks if you let it.
"I'm on the lam but I ain't no sheep" , blue oyster cult....great tune.

Still am and I only have one sister and 90 yr old mom left.
