Catholic elementary school kids were asked questions about
the Old and New Testaments. The following statements about the bible were written by children. They have not been retouched or corrected (i.e., incorrect spelling has been left in).
A clear example of how oral history often works to get us the myths in today's bible(s). A good early elementary school teacher will get her kids to sit in a circle and whisper something on one child's ear and ask them for repeat what they heard into the next child's ear. I wonder how that would work with adults?
Of course it would. It is called gossip.
@Jolanta In elementary schools it's often not understanding what was said and putting their own take on things. I had a friend who had a hearing problem. She constantly misheard what was told her but then spread what she thought she heard. It's called selective hearing. She knew this was a problem but just laughed about it.
I remember someone at school telling us that Jesus was betrayed by Judith Asparagus
Well I'm not sure these were actually written by children, but they are funny!
Yes I wondered that too. Or, "two" if you like.
Some like the last one, I have certainly heard before.
Exactly my thought.
I was having similar thoughts...
I agree some of them are suspect. But they're funny.
