Remember when impeachment was a serious thing? It was, as recently as January 2021. But no more. Without evidence of "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors" (the bar set in Article II of the U.S. Constitution), the Republican-led House of Representatives narrowly passed an impeachment resolution against Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. So frivolous, so unwarranted is this impeachment, the Senate may not even hold a trial. The Secretary is accused of allowing hordes of migrants to illegally enter the USA. At the same time the very same Republicans in Congress refuse to allow a bipartisan Senate bill, one that would greatly alleviate the migrant problem, to even come up for a vote. Border Patrol agents say the bill would give them the tools they need to stem the migrant tide. But Republican politicians would rather NOT solve the problem, because Donald Trump says he wants to use the issue in his campaign ads. Just when you think they couldn't be any more craven and cynical, congressional Republicans have reached a new low.

The Dems impeached their hero and they needed to get even
Amazingly, that is exactly what it going on. The GOP congressmen are like elementary school children, acting under threat from the schoolyard bully. It's really a disgusting, shameful display of cowardice. I don't know how they can look in a mirror, or sleep at night.
The GOP is not working for the best for the American people, they're working for their overlords who want to own the American people.
That is a very good and precise description of the situation.
