What US companies backed up by our government did in Mexico, Central America, much of South America and the Caribbean during the 19th and 20th centuries was in many ways just as bad as what Spain did in the 17th and 18 centuries.
No books are banned in Red states. They are merely removed from school libraries. Some libraries removed some books to limit access by children. Libraries are funded by tax payer money. One can still buy any book that is for sale as an adult.
