Do you have an innocuous mannerism that you never thought about until it really upset someone?
I turn the bathroom light off before I open the door and leavethe room. Apparently, this is enough to really upset some people.

So I have sleuthed together the rest of the story. You turn the bathroom light off before you open the door and leave the room. But you stand there quietly for several minutes waiting for someone else to come along and open the door. And you yell "BOO!" which is enough to really upset some people.?

Now that would be fun - wish I'd thought of it
Those people are cognatively-deficient. Of course you turn the light off before opening the door, as to not disturb anyone sleeping nearby. It's common sense/matter of preference. And, I don't care about the 50/50 workload, just put the damn toilet seat down. Do you know how much fecal matter ends up on your toothbrush when you flush w/ the lid open??
