I have to go to a wedding today. The stress of what to wear is getting to me. A cocktail dress it says on the invitation. I have absolutely no idea what to put on.
I wish you could look through my closet! I have lots of "cocktail dresses" I don't have the opportunity to wear, since I always have to wear my celebrant dress.
I consider a "cocktail dress" to be a fitted sleeveless dress in black or other color, knee length or above, but could also be tea length. I've been to thousands of weddings and pretty much anything goes, even pants. I just aim to wear something less fancy as the mothers of the bride/groom and certainly not white, since that's usually for the bride.
I'm sure if you're worried about it, whatever you choose will be just fine!
Thank you ever so much. I do have enough of clothes to last me a lifetime but it is always stressful to wear the 'right' thing.
Your education has been neglected.
Oh, I get the stress of figuring out what to wear for a wedding. It can feel like a fashion conundrum! For a cocktail dress code, I'd suggest something classy yet comfortable. Maybe a chic knee-length dress with some statement accessories to add a personal touch? Reminds me of when I was in a similar situation. I stumbled upon some great outfit ideas on bachelorettepartythemes.com while prepping for a friend's wedding. Ended up finding the perfect ensemble that struck the right balance between elegance and style.Trust your instincts and go with something that makes you feel confident. You'll look fabulous! "
Not floor length, somewhat dressy, like what you would wear to a high-priced restaurant or wedding, or a very simple dress with cool accessories.
