I've been working on a new sculpture the last couple of weeks and apart from plants in the top of the head and some time for it to get some age on it I'm really pleased with it. it goes well with my tree man. I'm going to make something with a metal look like the very first tanks were made next time I think. I hope you enjoy it.

you are such an inspiration, Leigh - i wished i had a safe space to do bigger works.

at last i want to ask you: did you ever hear of an australian poet called Shelton Lea? your name keeps reminding me of his story, which is rather extraordinary, sad & beautiful.

thank you. no i never have

Heavy looking dude but buoyant, too. One night you'll wake to a colossal shaking of the Earth and Easter Man will be rising up out of the garden.

So cool, Leigh!

wouldn't it be amazing?

@LeighShelton YES! Unless I'm you and he's in my garden and sees me FIRST! lol great sculpture.

@crazycurlz thank you. love your imagination

@LeighShelton if I can figure out how to post a pic...I started a chess set of Easter Island figures. It's a very very very rough start that I left hanging, but you can make out the figures anyway. I'll try to send to you as attachment in an email 😉 Fun stuff those figures. Mine are 1" tall.

@crazycurlz if your me and he rise out of your garden you still won't see him lol. id like to see the figures

@LeighShelton tongue twister! too tired to think this through...thanks for sending Leigh

@crazycurlz no problem my love

@LeighShelton woohoo!!! lol ya little rascal. When I get time this weekend I'll think through how to send you chess pieces...very rough mind you. Just my way of saying, I get the fascination with Moia (spelling?) 😉

@crazycurlzI can't help it I'm English lol.

I love your artistic endeavors. Do you ever show your work I.e., a public exhibition?

This is 6 feet tall and weighs a lot so no not really

Calls to mind , a garden sculpture I saw on a BBC gardening show . The show's lead , didn't want her to put it in her garden, but she did anyhow . Made a great conversation piece .

That's what I was looking for thank you

@LeighShelton you nailed it sir!

Thanks

Your welcome

Can I have one? 😉

How are you planning to carry it?

@Petter I hadn't thought that far 😉

@Amisja Lol! Don't get a hernia. (It would take your mind off your clavicle though!)

@Petter haha that's all I need 😉

@Petter it's staying right there

If you can pick it up you can have it lol. I wish I could

@LeighShelton Just had a thought. You could build an amazingly attractive, old fashioned bread oven and sell it for a goodly profit to a local bakery, which could then produce high-priced, specialist breads in it. Or even a Pizza establishment.
I'd patronise it. There are fewer and fewer traditional bakeries here in Spain where one can buy traditional, wood fired loaves of bread. The Supermarket stuff is cheaper, but not a patch on REAL bread.

@Petter id love to and just add my flair to it. them ovens are where the term "upper crust" comes from. the bread is was baked directly on the very hot base and the rich snobs took the top piece ie the upper crust and scum like me got the burnt bottom. I'm proud to be who I am by the way.

@LeighShelton Imagine if the entire world were composed of homogeneous people. What a horror story!
As soon as you've built a working model, let me know. It might tempt me to deviate to Thetford on my migrations North, towards Rutland (Oakham) and Darlington.

@LeighShelton OMG! I used to have (of all things) an illustrated chess book (history of chess for kids) and this 'upper crust' explanation was in there. If you have more of these origins of words, hope you'll consider starting a new post.

@PetterI doubt I will be making one but it would be interesting

@Petter, @crazycurlz i have a few but not that many lol

@LeighShelton Not even for MONEY?

@Petter I might do

@LeighShelton Good to see you're an artist, but not utterly crazy!! 🙂 🙂

@Petter no I'm not but it's not always about money either

@LeighShelton Agreed, but without lucre you cannot buy more materials for your art. .... and the odd night out.

@Petter I agree but I'm ok for that.

Different

6
