I am reading a brief history of time.
do you think i'll go hell for reading it?
You didn't ask, but i'll offer some advice anyway; don't put that book down, read it all the way thru with as little breaks as you can. I've tried reading it 3 or 4 times, every time i'd have to stop and do some menial task, and get distracted, and by the time I got back to the book I was totally lost and had to back up a chapter or two to figure out what he's saying.
great book, but you REALLY got to pay attention and focus on it and nothing else.
tell you the truth, I have read heavier books as i am deeply into psychology and mythology.. i love science though. the reason i threw this question was someone had told me that the so called god has a better explanation of the universe, my answer was: i think your god needs to read Stephen King Hawking's book.
its funny.. really those religious idiots are stupid way beyond the norm!
Exercising freedom of will and thought, I think we all know what happened to Adam in Eve in that kooky book when they tried that crap. The angry old man in the sky got seriously pissed.
Good thing it was just a stupid story in a book, never happened so found only in the fiction section.
Eternal damnation for reading it seems unlikely... The Vatican has been downright progressive of late when it comes to Cosmology. I can think of three reasons, though, that might earn you an indefinite term in Purgatory -- First, you might read it, misunderstand it, and proclaim it to be the work of Satan and his minions. Second, you might read it, misunderstand it, and proclaim that the Earth is both flat and the center of the universe. Third, you read it, think you understand it, and declare that it proves that Aliens visited the Earth in 1942 and impregnated Hawking's mother with a non-viable Human / Alien Hybrid.
I pick three!
