So everyone who I know is trying to get me to believe in God and I just want to remain an atheist and someone who does not believe in God. Im really shook and scared and uncomfortable right now. What should I do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

They can’t force you to believe something.

For a while I just got tired of dealing with such persons and said that "my religious beliefs are a personal thing and I just don't discuss it."

Christ in a sidecar (it's my catch phrase, don't get scared) that is a huge amount of social pressure. Absolutely nothing like anything I have experienced.

My first response would be to politely and firmly say I do not believe.

If they persist, my second response would be to tell them to piss off. But I'm classy like that.

Visit this site and vent as often as you need to.

Listen with and open mind. Then if you find anything wrong then debate. I suggest GodGone.com for a basic blueprint for a nice back and fourth

Hitchens gave a great answer 😉

Ignore them or argue your point if pressed. There's no justification for their beliefs. Make them think.

You should listen to what people have to say. There is something to learn from everyone. However, you should not believe something just because someone is pressuring you to believe it. Neither, should you believe in god or not believe because it's something you "want" to do. What you believe to be true comes from what your experience personally. You believe fire is hot because when you touch it - it burns you. This is not something you believe because you want to believe it OR because someone else tells you. It is something you believe because you personally experience or do not experience it.

@Omen6Actual It's true - a lot of them don't deserve it. But you can still learn something by listening to them even if all you learn is that they are bitter for some reason. It's not about giving them validation. It's about what there is to learn.

You are young. Think for yourself.

Just tell them you will be happy to believe in their god just as soon as there is any physical evidence that their god exists but until then you want to keep an open mind because with all the gods that people say they believe in you wouldn't want to choose the wrong one.

1

Tell them you honestly don't believe in God and you can't force yourself in believe in God any more than you can force yourself to believe in Santa Claus. Your only choice is to be honest about your lack of belief or put on an act and pretend to believe. If there is a God, then God will only honor a life of honesty, not a life of pretense. There is no such thing as salvation by hypocrisy.

Just breathe deeply and find yourself few words to say to yourself so you can buck up a bit
I say.

I am enough!
I do enough!
I have enough!
But anything that you can think of thats short and sweet and helps you through the insecurity is O.K ,You are allowed to have your own mind. And you are allowed to walk away from people who are hassling you. Give yourself as many permissions as you need to stay OK with yourself.

You may be better off refusing to discussing religion with the bullies with god in the head. Keep your thoughts to yourself until you are sure of your stance.

Just lie until the cows come home.

Why are we always waiting for the cows? 😉

@pixiedust I have been wondering that myself, maybe it has something to do with us wanting a cup of tea and here come the cows with the milk.

@Jolanta LOL

Physically leave as soon as anyone starts badgering you, even if relatives! No one has the right to annoy/scare you on Any subject, it is massively rude! Do that 2 or 3 times and they will be "trained" or you will have made new friends!

No need to be 'shook and scared' unless people are physically threatening you. Verbal bullying is painful too, but you can be strong and stand up to it. It sounds as if you are quite young and it can be hard when older people bully you. Maybe the best thing is just try not to get into arguments. While you are with so many people who think differently, just be polite and say that you don't want to get into a discussion at the moment. It will get easier when you can be more independent.

1

Just tell them if god wants that you are on a mission from god who wants you to report back from behind the enemy lines. God send you an angel called Conchita Wurst.

I don't know how old you are, but my advice would be to stand strong. "Good" people don't badger you into thinking their way...only manipulative people. Stay true to what you feel is right.

3

I'm sorry. I don't really understand your problem... Why are you shook and scared? Just say, "Thank you for caring, but that is not the way I think." (or something like that.)

Confidently say “I’ll think about it”, then just chill, no schedule to think about it, when they pressure you say they are undermining their own argument with distracting repetitions. I’m still collating seems to stump them also.but look at them like you liked them better when they were a little smarter and understanding. Then ask them who should play their role when their life is made into a movie.
Pretend to listen while doing Fibonacci series in your head.
