To so much as indicate that you lend any credibility whatsoever to the Right is to be automatically condemned by the sycophants of the Left as a demonic entity. The Right also has it's lunatic fringe, but it is so much smaller and less organized and influential in the mainstream. We in the mainstream can still proudly proclaim that we are the determiners of every election. The party zombies are only about 80% cumulatively and neither can elect anyone without us.

My point is that the items I have listed are all those the rep party supports. Dumping mining waste in the river is harmful to environment. The pipeline has had 50 to 100 thousand oil spills that went unreported until the newspaper got a clue. They are selling the lands around our monuments so they can drill for oil and gas.Rep oppose single payor and health ins for all plus the changes in medicade and medicare has put thousnds without any health coverage.They oppose bith control and abortions but after the childrern are born they forget about them. They eliminated school meal plans leaving many children without food. and medical care. That is great bring them into the world and let them starve,WE would be in deep trouble without the foreign doctors that have immigated to the USA.and the scientists plus many other important areas,To limit immigrats to 45000 per year is insane. The border wall will not work as they will come over,under or around the stupid thing. The immigration policy is stupid and to hold up the kids born here is criminal under the law.

I am liberal on most issues. I "liked your post", not because I agree that the liberals are the hot headed, close minded ones. But because I like your underlying desire for more intelligent discussion instead of more yelling. Whenever you or I am having a political debate, it will be with someone with the opposing view. We never have a heated debate with someone who aggrees with us. So naturally we both tend to see the other side as irrational and angry.....something we would both do well to consider. Also,the difference between political leanings can not be simply intelligence, because there are so many obviously intellingent people on each side. There are so many possible factors that can lead a person to be liberal or conservative. It seems clear that it is not just a matter of which side is correct. It is more like "which is better...stawberry or vanilla?" And with that, may we now resume hitting each other over the head with frying pans.

dunno what that makes you but i also am a patriot. i do believe in equal rights as i've worked a mans job most of life, i.e. mechanic, tow truck o/op, etc. i believe in legal immigration, not the assholes that come and take from the U.S. citizens or who refuse to love this country and become a legal citizen and there are already more than necessary common sense laws in the books regarding gun control.

@Adasher1, we're in this mess of polarization because of intolerance, aren't we? If the reasons for one's beliefs/preferences are backed by logic and rationality, and not emotion and prejudice, we can have civil discourse, not argument and discord.

@Condor5 I think also when having discussions with anyone we need to clearly and carefully define and understand exactly what the other person thinks and believes on each topic before we debate it, and also try and explain the same about ours. This can very often defuse any possible over emotional response.
