Any flat-earthers on here? Anyone still have lingering doubts about creationism?

Try this:

Measure (or estimate) the angle between the pole star (polaris - the one that doesn't move all night) and the point, due North, on your horizon. You will find that it is the same as your latitude. Check with a couple of friends who live a long way North or South of you that they also find the angle to the pole star is the same as their latitude.

Now take a trip to Acapulco - should be nice there this time of year - and do the same thing. You will find that the angle to the pole star from Acapulco is 16.8531 degrees. OK, somewhere between 15 and 20 degrees - let's not bother with accuracy.

Now let's draw a flat-earth diagram. Take a piece of paper and put a point on the left hand side and label it "North pole". From that point draw a vertical line 3" high to represent 3000 miles - the height of the pole star (allegedly), and label the end of it "Pole star". If the pole star is further than 3000 miles up your problems are going to get worse. Now draw a horizontal line 5.583 inches long (from the point you labelled "North pole", to represent the distance of Acapulco from the North pole (5583 miles). Label the end of the line "Acapulco".

Now measure the angle from "Acapulco" to the pole star on your diagram. Anyone get 28.25 degrees? Let's not always see the same hands.

If you want to go to extremes visit Quito in Equador. The angle you will calculate there is 25.67 degrees but the angle you will see with your eyes is zero degrees!

Not got a passport? Instead of 5.583 inches draw a line to represent the distance from where you live to the North pole. Draw a line to represent your latitude to cross the vertical line to the pole star. Measure the height of the pole star.

You and your friends will all get different distances. Now I don't care how far away the pole star is but it can't be several different distances at the same time.
