It’s torture. I hate it , and hate seeing others begging for the tickler to stop.
To me, very rapey. I don't know why. It feels invasive, people assume you like it if it makes you laugh, and since you're laughing when you say stop, they don't listen to you. I'm a very affectionate person, but tickling, to me, seems super invasive.
Except like erotic tickling during some consensual erotic activity where IF you say no, it stops. But the exuberant tickling that people do against your will just reminds me of rape. Not the same seriousness of violation, but the same FEELING of violation. Of somebody doing something to you without your consent or control.
that said, I have played tickling with my kids, but never once touched them. I always was able to make them laugh by just holding my finger near them and saying I'mma tickle you! And not a lot. Like not until they were hysterical. And if they EVER said stop, I immediately did.
Hate it......especially when the person tickling won't stop when asked to.
I am fine with it as long as it stops when one asks for it to stop.
My dad was a terrific tickle monster! He always stopped when we asked, but would resume if/when we'd ask for more, which more often than not, we did.
OTOH, my husband hated tickling. It was either too intense or he had received it beyond his consent as a child, learning to hate it. I therefore never tickled him.
