Gifts giving - I just want opinions on gift giving at work and\or home for the believers.
Was fortunately able to opt-out of the ‘secret santa’ stuff at work. Home was fun for the kids in that we’d celebrate the Winter Solstice, so they got their gifts before their friends at school! ...4 days later, off to the in laws to an avalanche of more gifts.. Mainly headed our direction though
I've gotten real practical these days. Gloves-for shoveling and snowblowing-
Treat their belief as you would any other interest. At work I once drew the name of someone who loved elephants, so I bought a figurine. The next year I drew a devout Christian lady, so I risked bursting into flames & crossed the threshold of a religious store in search of something.
I just try to find a gift that suits the person, & leave belief out of it.
thats funny!
Thank you so much for your opinion.
Candy. Can't go wrong there.
Unless they're a diabetic.
Lol. A carrot stick then.
My team does a Secret Santa gift exchange. I have no idea of the faith or lack thereof of the person who's name I drew.
Where the mask and play the game. I did it. I stood up with my head looking down as they said a prayer at work. I didnt believe. Protect yourself. Unless you want to go down with your ship.
This goes back to the days when “most people” smoked... If it’s an obligatory gift and you don’t like the person give them a carton of cigarettes and if you really can’t stand them, give them two cartons. jajaja... Old joke.
Almost all my gift recipients are “believers”, outside of their personal beliefs, most of them like what I like, booze, wine, cookies, basket of gourmet treats, cheeses, etc.
