It was advertised to me as a dating site, but as you can see it's so much more than that so don't limit yourself.

I don't see this as a dating site, although I am open to the possibility and checked the box accordingly. I did the Match.com and OK Cupid thing a while back. I did meet a lovely lady on Match. We dated for 6 months. It didn't work out, but she's happily matured now and we're still friends.
That said, I no longer go anywhere looking for a date. I go where I can do things I like to do with people who like to do that too. I see this as a community site, a place to meet and converse with intelligent people and, maybe, make a few friends. If I meet someone special, great. If not, I'm still doing what I like. It's been my experience that love finds me when I'm not looking for it.

IMO, this is better than any dating site I've been on. You can easily get to know people before you "flirt" or "like" them (read their posts and comments). The site is new and still growing so unless you live in a heavily populated area you may not have a lot to choose from locally but, that's not all bad. There are an abundance of very fine people on this site that are well worth making friends with and if it's to be more, what better way to start than by being friends. Welcome and good luck!

There are few "free" dating services....one even have an Atheist forum. I won't pay for a dating sces.
