Orwell foresaw a world of mass surveillance being forced on the populous, even he did not see a would where the public demanded to be surveyed and spied upon in exchange for being able to tell a machine in the living room to flush the toilet for you upstairs ten minutes after using it.

But why use these gimmicks? One's fingers are far more reliable. I blame the idiots that use a bunch of remote servers, relying on algorithms, to understand specifically what they want.
