What has agnostic.com provided for you?
I recently joined the community on agnostic.com and I’m ready to see what all it has to offer. I would love to hear your story. Did you make new online friends, met in person, or even found love? I would love to listen to your feedback as I become more acquainted with members on agnostic.com.
I joined because I couldn't express anything I think on Facebook without being harassed, harangued, and otherwise demeaned, by religutards and conservative trumptards. I've found a community of relatively like-minded, and truly interesting people here.
Even those who I've had disagreements with (usually political) almost always behave in
a civil and reasonably respectful manner.
For the most part, there is a tremendous sense of humanity and caring exhibited by those who participate on this site. There is also an amazing sense of humor.
I haven't met any other members in RL, and I'm not here to find a date, but, I think the
connections I've made with some here will probably last for a long time.
I also got tomato seeds (from a member), that I cannot wait to plant!
Stick around to hit Level 8, and get a cool t-shirt!
Welcome to the asylum. Enjoy your stay!
I've found a number of online friends, only one of whom I've met in person so far. I have been turned on to some great articles, ideas & viewpoints by some very intelligent & erudite people. I shared laughs in "Memes..." & outrage in "Trump Pinata" & "Gin Control Now". Lots of music in the number of music groups we have, much of which was new or unfamiliar to me. I have friends to chat with, to console me & to flirt with!
It’s like trying to find a lunch table to sit at, and you find one with people who share the same mindset. You don’t know the people personally but slowly you get to know them by there opinions and sharing personal information.
I get to see some of the same faces on the boards posting and commenting everyday and it makes it easier to be yourself knowing you are among familiarity.
So welcome to the show
Great question. My original intention was to meet (and possibly date) someone with similar viewpoints, but it's turning out to be more of a discussion forum with like-minded people. Which is fine with me--I'm actually enjoying the stimulating conversations and support from each other. I feel like I have found "my people"!
I recently joined, thinking it was just a dating site for agnostics I have spent some time going through posts, and checking out and posts. I like the discussions going on here. Had no idea this was even a thing. There is so much here. Where to start...lol
I find here people with good ideas who I can learn from and a place for what I believe to be heard by a somewhat more receptive group. I like sharing what I’ve learned and socializing with people grounded in reality. Many of the posts I have made here would not have been well received on FB... Although Twitter does allow me a good outlet and outreach it is somewhat less personal so I do both that and this. My intention is not dating but if it was this sight is not big enough as anyone I would have liked is geographically challenged. As it grows that will hopefully change.
It allows me to see the solutions to their lives that others have developed when confronted with the same issues I face.
Welcome I enjoy all the interesting discussions on here, gotten a lot of laughs, and made at least one good friend. I've found many of the people here to be intelligent and funny, and some are very interesting too. It's a friendly environment for people who are atheists or agnostics. I think it's great.
Suggestion.... run through the forums hash tags.
@irascible lol...
Some good friends and lots if entertainment/educational links!
It gave me a place to belong and friends. More people here have helped me out in my struggles than anywhere else. (Advice, donations for my disability, listening to me complain)
I've made three online friends and met one of those in person. I love hanging and talking with my agnostic.com friends! ? I feel so much more comfortable knowing that I don't have to tip toe around a lot of topics.
Ask not what can be done for you, ask what you can do for others.
I had that from my High School headteacher, 60 years ago. We also had 'If you are not enjoying a social occasion, make sure that someone else enjoys it!'
Hi, Carey, and welcome to the website.
You already earned website points by writing a profile and answering profile questions, and that's the first place many people look when they see a new member.
Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points, and when you reach level two you can private email people.
The profiles of dating prospects should list mutual interests, such as anime or gaming. To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and fill our your preferred search parameters.
A link to FAQ and a website tutorial is on the home page.
Have fun!
Uh, I don't think that it has really been a good experience. When I joined, I was just looking to talk to people about whatever, but I was getting attention that I did not want, and that made me uncomfortable, because I don't like attention. It makes me think that I am subconsciously trying to get attention, and that's embarrassing. It's not like I don't already have personality issues as well, to boot. I want to grow as a person, is all.
@sarahjustme Thanks!
Another group of random people to have limited interaction with.
If something cliks, well that'll happen. If not, then that'll happen.
I enjoy reading views/opinions I agree or disagree with.
In a sea of religious dullards it is nice to share ideas and a laugh with more interesting people, like the membership here at Agnostic.com. Any online group tends to give back as much as you put into it. I hope we get to share your comments as well.
