During times when I have been severely depressed, I have had to go to work anyway and fake like I am ok. People say “how are you” , but they don’t really care how you are, it makes me feel worse to have to say, “fine”, because that’s what they want to hear. Just please, people, when you ask how someone is...wait for the answer while you make eye contact. Show that you really do care. And when they shrug and look at the ground, or murmur “fine” without meaning it...say something kind and crack the door open so they know someone cares. Thank you. I will do the same for you. ✌??
I'm generally pleasant, smiling and friendly til I'm given a reason not to be, and even then might try one more time.
Most folks are carrying their load, I have no idea what or .
But, that also doesn't mean I have to suffer it or them, as you say, be a door mat.
Judge no one until you know their story. And everyone has a story.
Is that a real photo or is it staged?
Does anyone know?
Kindness, trust, and respect are my default settings. I'm also a do unto others kind of guy. My default for that is to treat people how I would like to be treated. My advanced setting (once I get to know someone quite well) is to treat them the way that they want to be treated.
I agree. I try to always do this but sometimes it feels like a test
LOL. I once told our daughter, "Sweetie, I think your Dad was put here to teach me patience. And sadly, I seem to be a slow learner."
Thats the way I live. I had a child with special needs, worked with Parent to Parent to support families medically. socially and educationally..
