You already earned website points and helped other members get to know you better when you wrote a profile, posted a photo, and answered the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member.
You continue to earn points by making comments and writing your own posts, and at level two you can private email people. Each level earns more privileges, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.
To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and fill our your preferred search parameters.
