As a metal fan, the hair band era really raises my freaking hackles. I can't even listen to bands like Quiet Riot without getting pissed off. The hair band era completely destroyed heavy metal as a viable genre in the United States.

Back in the 80's, record companies started signing every talentless hack with a V neck and a pair of spandex. The result was an endless barrage of utter crap on FM radio, leading people like me to turn to underground and college radio in order to get away from the ever growing mountain of shit.

Thanks to the hair band era, great post 90's metal bands can't find a home anywhere on the airwaves in the US market.
