People are bored. Being so interested in a celebrity's life fills up an empty space.

I think that people's fascination with celebrities has a lot to do with a narrow view about the world. What I mean is, that those who are fascinated with celebrities don't have enough world experience to be able to discern who they should admire and for which reasons. If they did, they would stop being fans of whoever it is they are currently fans of; because only maturity and world experience can show you what total boobs most of these celebrities are, and that "not all the glitters is gold" (as they say). Until then, you really have nothing to compare celebrities to. The best policy is to enjoy celebrities for their entertainment value, and not try to copy them or base your life's philosophy on, most are NOT good role models at all.

I sure don't care what they think say or believe.

They pay taxes just like everybody else does and have a right to their opinions.... just like everyone else does. Don't like it? Don't look.
It can be very handy however when they're a totally guano psycho maroon that I can justify buying something 2nd hand or waiting for a dollar theater etc or just plain ole tuning them out and considering the source.

Otoh some do give oxygen to good causes, awareness.

i do not care and hate the attention they are given in matters. They aren,t any brighter than any one else and many times they are plain stupid.
