What is your favorite musical instrument that you play ?
Guitar.... I’ve been playing about 50 years and rarely have I missed a day. I have more guitars than any wife seems to concider reasonable, I know this because I sell guitars for a living and also teach privately. Here is a picture of my first, still have it and play it... it’s a 1903 Gibson L1
Oh...a beautiful guitar...drool
@CrazyQuilter nice, Collings is awesome. I have an LGO from 66... all mahogany, cool bluesy tone... Currently in need of a new set of tuning machines which I’m actually ordering today.... I’ll snap a picture for you right now
@CrazyQuilter That’s a Bruno and Sons bowl back mandolin… Sounds great, haven’t been able to determine the exact year, somewhere between the late 1890s and 1920? It is kind of the perfect old Italian song mandolin
I only play drums.
... By that you mean the drummer is just a guy that hangs out around musicians?
@ArdentAtheist Pretty much, but without us there is no rock and roll, there is only roll. ?
I damn well appreciate percussion. Without the time set by you all I could not play the odd signature....
I torture them all, so percussion... congas (kinto & tumbador), bongos, cowbell, guiro, maracas, timbales, clave. Wind Controller via synths software in the PC. Got a few keyboards, electric piano, acustic guitar but they are my tools on music production, not musical instrument I command.
Wait? I play a musical instrument? LOL! I don't. When I was in gradeschool, I think I had a music class at some point where I played the Recorder. I don't play anything but air guitar these days, and air drums in my car. But I'd love to learn to play the guitar and think it would be kick-ass fun to play in a band. Maybe in my old(er) age, when I have free time, I'll learn acoustical and electric guitars. =]
Go for it my friend.
10 minuets a day.
Jug, and a wash board.....sometimes spoons. ?
Good one ???
I was last chair clarinet all through middle school. So that's a none for me.
My Arp Quadra...no My Gibson-ES-175...or my Gretsch G100......too many to pick...no fair!
Learning the Ukulele, first attempt at a musical instrument. Every new chord is a joy ?. Even the theory is interesting ?
Once decided to learn to play guitar, a buddy that played really well offered to try to teach me. Taught me a few basic cords. Worked super hard trying to teach me about rhythm. Three or four months later, if I counted, forgot what cord came next, if I focused on cords, either lost a beat, or skipped a beat. He suggested I remove the strings and do finger-rolls on the back. Still have the guitar, fourty years later no strings.
Harmonica... and not that great. Guitar.... rhythm...and not that great. Everything by ear.
